Skoteini (Σκοτεινή ) Argolida
Skoteini is a mountainous village in Argolida.[2] It is located at an altitude of 690 meters in a small valley on the slopes of Mount Oligyrtos and Trachy.[3] According to the 2021 census, it has 267 permanent residents.[4]
The domestic goat "poor man's cow" (korba).
Skoteini was the seat of the Kapodistrian Municipality of Alea and is now part of the homonymous municipal unit of the municipality of Argos - Mycenae. It is the seat and sole settlement of the community of Skoteini.[5] It used to have a police station while today it operates the only primary school in the municipal unit. The residents are mainly engaged in livestock farming and viticulture.
Near the village are the settlements of Kandila, Agios Nikolaos, Alea, Stymfalia and Psari.
