Miscellaneous

The village of Skiada was home to Saint Joachim, who lived most of his monastic life in the Holy Monastery of Notenon[13]. The Monastery of Notenon used to have many monks, but today it has only one. It celebrates with a festival on August 23 (the celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary) and on July 3 (in memory of Saint Joachim).

Important cultural events are held in the Municipality of Tritaia, the most important of which are the revival of the traditional village wedding and the sports competitions that take place during the two-day event. This set of cultural events is held every summer and is called "Skiadaiika". Due to the traditional relationship of the villagers with horses in "Skiadaiika", the villagers use them to revive customs such as traditional weddings.[14] Additionally, due to this traditional relationship, the Cultural Association of Skiada "Agios Ioakeim" organized for the first time the "HORSE RIDE - WALK" on Friday 22/8/2014 as part of the "Skiadaiika 2014" events.[15][16]. In the past, the relative nickname "alogosurtis" was often heard in the area.[citation pending]
Sports

The village is home to the football team "Thyella Skiada" (founded in 1988) which competes in the local categories of the Achaean Football Association.
