Simos Ioannidis (Σίμος Ιωαννίδης) Florina
Simos Ioannidis is a village in the Florina Regional Unit in the Region of Western Macedonia, with a population of 221 inhabitants (2011 Census). Until 1957 it was called Motesnitsa and was renamed in honor of the Macedonian warrior Simos Ioannidis, also known as Gratsou or Stogianni or Armenskioti, who settled in Motesnitsa in the last years of his life. Today it is also referred to as Neo chorio.
Simos Ioannidis belongs to the Municipality of Florina and is located approximately 5 kilometers west of the city of Florina. The average elevation of the village is 820 meters above sea level. The nearest settlement is Kalogeritsa, to the southwest.
