Prodromos (Πρόδρομος) Voiotia
Prodromos is a settlement in the Regional Unit of Boeotia, in the Region of Central Greece. Administratively, together with the settlement of Paralia (or Paralia Saranti), they belong to the Community of Chostia and are part of the Municipal Unit of Thisvi (formerly the Municipality of Thisvi), of the Municipality of Thebes.[1]
Geography - History
Prodromos in Boeotia is located on the western slopes of Mount Helicon, at an altitude of 255 meters[2] and has a population of 434 inhabitants,[3] according to the 2011 Census. Until 1956, it was called Helicon and until 1955, it was called Chostia.[4] Near Prodromos, there was the ancient Boeotian city of Korsiai.[5]
Holy Monastery of Saint Seraphim of Dombos
Northwest of the settlement,[6] is the Holy Monastery of Saint Seraphim of Dombos,[7] built in the late 16th century.[8]
