Platanakia (Πλατανάκια) Arta
Platanakia is a small settlement in the regional unit of Arta with 14 permanent residents (2011 census), in the mountains of Arta and is approximately 30 kilometers from the city.[1]
According to the Kapodistrias Plan, Platanakia was until the end of 2010, a settlement of the Municipality of Xirovouni with its headquarters in Ammotopos. Based on the new administrative division provided for in the Kallikratis Plan, the settlement was incorporated into the Municipality of Arta.[2] Platanakia together with Kampos, Kardamos, Tsiapalaiika, Paleochori, Skoupa and Fraxo form the local community of Skoupa with a total population of 143 residents.
Administrative changes
The settlement was recognized in 1951 and joined the community of Skoupa, which was under the province of Nikopolis and Parga of the prefecture of Preveza. In 1974 it was detached from the province of Nikopolis and Parga of the prefecture of Preveza and joined the province of Arta of the prefecture of Arta and in 1997 it was joined to the municipality of Xirovouni and finally in 2010 to the Municipality of Arta. [3]
Location and Access
Platanakia is adjacent to the settlements of the local community of Skoupa.[4]
