Perama (Πέραμα) Evros
Perama is a semi-mountainous village of Thrace in the Evros Regional Unit with an altitude of 230 meters.[2]
General information
Perama is located on the western border with the Rhodope Regional Unit at a distance of 28 km. W.-NW. of Alexandroupoli and 45 km. SE. of Komotini. To the southwest is Petrota, to the east is Komaros, while south to the archaeological site of Mesimvria - Zone stretches a black pine forest whose main characteristic is the dwarf trees[3].
Administrative - population information
It is officially mentioned as a settlement, after the liberation of Thrace (1920), in 1924 in the Government Gazette 194A - 14/08/1924 to be annexed to the then community of Sykaragi (Sykorrachis).[4] According to the Kallikratis Plan, together with Sykorrachi, Atarni, Avra, Mesti and Komaro, it forms the local community of Sykorrachi, which falls under the municipal unit of Alexandroupoli of the Municipality of Alexandroupoli and according to the 2011 census has a population of 108 residents.[5]
