Pefki (Πεύκη) Ilia
Pefki[1] is a village and seat of the homonymous Local Community of the Prefecture of Ilia and is located 35.54 kilometers northeast of the city of Pyrgos at an altitude of 550 meters. Administratively, it belongs to the Municipal Unit of Oleni of the Municipality of Pyrgos and has 126 permanent residents according to the 2011 census.[2] The Local Community borders the Local Communities of Agia Anna and Klindia. It is also surrounded by the Oak Forest of Foloi. South of the village is Goumero.
History - administrative changes
On 20/04/1835 it was annexed to the then Municipality of Foloi.[3] The Government Gazette 5A of 08/03/1841 detached the settlement from the Municipality of Foloi and annexed it to the then Municipality of Lampeia.[3] With the Government Gazette 256A of 28/08/1912 it was annexed to the community of Agia Anna.[3][4] With the Government Gazette 260A of 20/12/1913 it was detached from the community of Agia Anna and designated as the seat of the community of Benteni.[4] On 08/08/1928 with the Government Gazette 156A the settlement was renamed from Benteni to Pefki.[3] With the Government Gazette 244A of 04/12/1997, in accordance with the "Kapodistrias" Administrative Reform, it was annexed to the Municipality of Oleni until 2010 when it was incorporated into the Municipality of Pyrgos (Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010) based on the "Kallikratis" Administrative Reform.[3]
The settlement was four hours' drive away in 1885 from Divri, the seat of the then Municipality of Lampiai to which it belonged administratively.[5]

Fires August 2007
On 24 August 2007, a large fire broke out in the village of Klindia. The fire quickly grew in size due to strong winds and the village was evacuated. The fire surrounded the village, resulting in 5 houses being completely burned down. The fire reached the churchyard.
