Paranesti (Greek: Παρανέστι, Bulgarian: Бук, Buk) is a municipality in the Rhodope Mountains of northeastern Drama peripheral unit, Greece. It consists of two municipal units: Paranesti and Nikoforos. The largest villages of the municipal unit Paranesti are Paranésti (the municipal seat, pop. 619), Mesochório (228), Káto Thólos (163), Χágnanton (117), and Prasináda (100).
