Paralia Porovitsis (Παραλία Ποροβίτσης) Achaia
Paralia Porovitsis a small lowland coastal settlement in the Prefecture of Achaia, it is the seat of the Local Community of Porovitsa, and according to the "Kallikratis Program" since 1/1/2011 it belongs to the Municipality of Aigialeia[2][3]. During the period 1997-2010, based on the "Kapodistrias Plan", it belonged to the former Municipality of Akrata as the seat of the former Municipal District of Porovitsa[2][3][4][5].
General information
This is a relatively new settlement as it was recognized as such on 07/04/1951[2]. It was created by residents of mountainous Porovitsa, who came down to the coastal lands, and when it acquired the form of a permanent settlement it was independently registered for the first time in 1951[4]. With the Government Gazette 96A of 13/06/1967, the settlement became the seat of the then Community of Porovitsa, where it was transferred from the settlement of the mountainous Porovitsa[2][3][4][6].
