Pallikari (Παλληκάρι) Ioannina

Pallikari, officially Pallikarion, is a mountainous village in the region of Northern Tzoumerka in the prefecture of Ioannina at an altitude of 560 meters[1], which is located on the border with the prefecture of Arta. It is built on the western slopes of Tzoumerka (Athamanika Ori) and east of the Arachthos River. It is 46 km. SE. from Ioannina and 52.5 km N.-NE. from Arta. As a settlement, it was officially included in the census for the first time in 1940 and as part of the community of Raftanaioi.[2] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Vounoria, Megali Rachi, Mylokopio, Paleomochousti, Zaloucho, Plaka, Raftanaioi, Rouga and Fraxos, they constitute the local community of Raftanaioi, which falls under the municipal unit of Pramanta in the Municipality of North Tzoumerka and, according to the 2011 census, has a population of only 3 inhabitants.[3]
