Pale (Παλέ ) Rethymno
Pale is a settlement in the Municipality of Agios Vasileios in Crete and the Regional Unit of Rethymno.[2][3]
General information
Pale is located in the central part of the island, at an altitude of 300 meters.[4] The village is 25 km. S. from Rethymno, 8 km. W.-NW. from Spili (seat of the municipality) while the provincial road Rethymno - Spili passes through it. It is officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1991, being registered in the community of Koxares.[3] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Koxare, Atsipades and Katsogrida, they form the Koxares community, which falls under the municipal unit of Foinikas of the Municipality of Agios Vasileios and according to the 2021 census, 94 residents were registered[5] while in the 2011 census it had 132 residents[6].
