Palaiochori (Παλαιοχώρι) Evrytania
Palaiochori (or Paleochori) is a mountainous village of Central Greece in the Regional Unit of Evrytania, which is located on the border with the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania. It is built on the southern slopes of Mount Trikorfo at an altitude of 530 meters with a view of the artificial lake of Kremasta. It is 46 km. S. from Agrafa (seat of the municipality) and 53 W. from Karpenisi. Its old name, from the time of the Turkish occupation, is and thus it is reported after the liberation in 1836 to be annexed to the then municipality of Agraion. In 1912, with the Government Gazette 261A - 31/08/1912, it was designated the seat of the newly founded community of the same name and in 1940 its name was corrected to Paleochori. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Agios Georgios and Neochori, they form the local community of Palaiochori, which belongs to the municipal unit of Fragistas of the Municipality of Agrafa and according to the 2011 census has a population of 57 residents.[2]
Note
In Evrytania and the same municipality there is the synonymous settlement of Palaiochori , while in the municipality of Karpenisi there is another Palaiochori.
