Historical information

The village is said to have been created in Byzantine times.[2] In 1835, Nerotrouvia was annexed to the municipality of Messapia. From 1841 to 1866 it was under the Municipality of Chalkida, but with the Government Gazette 69A - 03/11/1866 it was annexed again to the municipality of Messapia. With the abolition of municipalities in 1912, it was designated as the seat of a homonymous community and in 1920 the village was renamed Nerotrivia. With the Kapodistrias program, it was annexed to the Messapia municipality and with the Kallikratis program, to the Dirfys-Messapia municipality, which has its seat in Psachna.[3]
