Moustheni (Μουσθένη) Kavala
Moustheni is built at the foot of Mount Pangaio. The village in 2021 had a population of 569 inhabitants, down from 647 in 2011. Moustheni is also home to the town hall of the municipality of Pieries. With the change in the boundaries and mergers of the self-governing municipalities, according to the Kallikratis program, Moustheni as well as the Municipality of Pieria was incorporated into the new Municipality of Panggaio with the capital in Eleftheroupoli . Its characteristic cobblestone streets, the colorful mansions built during the Turkish rule make Moustheni ideal for a summer and winter getaway.
Nikolaos Martis was born in Moustheni in 1915.
