Moschomantsa (Μοσχομάντσα) Ioannina
Moschomantsa is a semi-mountainous settlement of the Regional Unit of Ioannina at an altitude of 400 meters[1]
General information
Moschomantsa is located towards the border of Greece with Albania, at a distance of 44 km. NW. from Ioannina and 11 km. SW. from Kalpaki. It is built west of the Gormos River, which is renamed Kalama further south, between the villages of Stavrodromi (N.) and Repetista (S.).
It was officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1961, being registered in the then community of Parakalamos[2]. According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Parakalamos, Ano Parakalamos, Stavrodromi and Bolaika it forms the local community of Parakalamos, which belongs to the municipal unit of Ano Kalama of the Municipality of Pogoni and according to the 2011 census has a population of 17 permanent residents[3].
