Magoula (Μαγούλα) Messinia
Magoula is a settlement in the Peloponnese in the Regional Unit of Messinia.[1][2]
General information
Magoula is located at an altitude of 64 meters,[3] between Meligalas (seat of the municipality - 2 km. NW.) and Zevgolatio. It is officially mentioned as a separate settlement in 1835, being annexed to the then municipality of Stenikliros and in 1925 being designated as the seat of the newly founded community of the same name.[4] According to the Kallikratis plan and its amendment by Kleisthenis I, it is a community[5] that falls under the municipal unit of Meligalas of the Municipality of Oichalia. According to the 2021 census, 92 residents were counted[6] while in the 2011 census it had 97[7].
