Lepti (Λεπτή) Evros
Lepti is a settlement in Thrace in the Evros Regional Unit.[1]
General information
Lepti is located in northern Evros, towards the border line of Greece with Turkey at an altitude of 40 meters.[1] It is 6.5 km west of the center of Orestiada and is built between Neo Pyrgos (E.) and Neochori (NW.). Before the liberation it was referred to as "Tziokioi"[2]. It was officially mentioned as a settlement in 1924 in the Government Gazette 194A-14/08/1924 to be annexed to the then community of Orestiada[3]. According to the "Kallikratis" Program, it falls under the municipal unit of Orestiada of the municipality of Orestiada and according to the 2011 census it has a population of 641 inhabitants[4].
