Lefkochori (Λευκοχώρι)  Fthiotida

Lefkochori is a small lowland village in the Municipality of Amfikleia-Elateia, in Central Greece.[1][2] According to the 2011 Census, it has 123 permanent residents.[3] The village is located in the plain of Elateia and its inhabitants are engaged in agriculture. The Church of Saint George was converted into a fortress during the Greek liberation struggle (at that time there were two settlements, Alisachos or Alisaki and the main settlement, Manesi, near the current cemetery). On July 28, 1821, a battle took place (in Alisaki) which the Greeks lost to the Turks[1] while a little later the latter were defeated in Livadia. The village is 2.5 km from Elateia, and is the last settlement of the Regional Unit (former prefecture) of Fthiotida on its border with Voiotia. Its old name until 1968 was Manesi.[2]
