Krania (Κρανιά) Xanthi
Krania or Krios is an uninhabited mountain village of Thrace in the Regional Unit of Xanthi [1] at an altitude of 512 meters [2], which is located at a distance of about 13 km A. (driving) from Sminthi (seat of the municipality) and 23 km B.-VA. from Xanthi. It is culturally included in Pomakochoria of Xanthi (as well as all of the area) [3] and was formerly referred to as Karaculka [4]. As a separate settlement, it is officially mentioned for the first time in 1961 that it was registered in the then community of Myki, while in 1965, with the Government Gazette 26A - 17/02/1965, it was renamed Krania. [5] According to the Kallikratis Plan, it belongs to the municipal unit of Myki of the Municipality of Myki and according to the 2011 census it does not have permanent residents [6].
