Koukkouli (Κουκκούλιο) Preveza
Koukkouli is a small settlement in Epirus in the Regional Unit of Preveza.[1][2]
General information
Koukkouli is located at an altitude of 450 meters[2] and is approximately 12 km. S.-SW. from Kanallaki (seat of the municipality). It is a semi-mountainous village, whose inhabitants in the early 1960s began to move towards the coastal zone and the plain where they had their estates and thus slowly built the settlement of Khochla. It is officially mentioned, after the liberation of Epirus, written as Koukkouli (with a "k") in 1919 in the Government Gazette 181A - 14/08/1919 to be the seat of the newly founded community of the same name.[3] According to the "Kallikratis" Program, together with Khochla, it forms the community of Koukkouli, which falls under the Municipal Unit of Fanari, in the municipality of Parga, and according to the 2011 census, has a population of 13 inhabitants[4].
