Kopanos (Κοπανός) Imathia
Kopanos is a small town in Imathia that belongs to the Municipality of Naoussa while it was the seat of the former municipality of Anthemion. It has a real population of 2,144 inhabitants (2001).
Kopanos is located east of Naoussa, 9 km from its center.
During the revolution of 1821, the inhabitants of the area fought against the Ottomans. Great fighters of the revolution of 1821 were the chiefs Tserno-Petris, Argyrios Karabatakis and Konstantinos Athanasiou (born 1798) from Kopanos [1] [2].
