Konakia (Κονάκια) Arta
Konakia is a village in the Municipality of Kentrika Tzoumerka with 22 permanent residents (2011 census) and is located in the mountainous massif of Tzoumerka, at an altitude of 765 meters. The settlement is approximately 54 kilometers from the city of Arta while the distance from Vourgareli is approximately 43 kilometers.[1][2]
According to the Kapodistrias Plan, Konakia was until the end of 2010, a settlement of the newly established Municipality of Agnanta. Based on the new administrative division provided for by the Kallikratis Plan, Konakia was incorporated into the Municipality of Kentrika Tzoumerka. Konakia together with Artissa, Frasta, Katafygi, Paleochori and Agnanta constitute the local community of Agnanta with a total population of 430 residents.[3]
Administrative changes
The settlement was recognized in 1961 and annexed to the community of Agnanta. In 1997 the settlement was incorporated into the Municipality of Agnantes and in 2010 it was incorporated into the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka.[4]
Location and access
The settlement is adjacent to the settlements of the local community of Agnanta.
Demographics
Today the population amounts to 22 permanent residents (2011 census),[1] showing a decrease compared to the 2001 census, where the population amounted to 47 residents.[5]
