Kerasoula (Κερασούλα) Trikala
Kerasoula is a settlement in Thessaly in the Regional Unit of Trikala.[1][2]
General information
Kerasoula is located on the border with the Regional Unit of Grevena, on the slopes of Mount Chasia at an altitude of 720 meters[1] while it is approximately 38 km. N.-NE. from Kalambaka (seat of the municipality), 13 km. SW. from Deskati and 45 km. N. from Trikala. Its few inhabitants are mainly engaged in livestock farming.[2]
It is mentioned, after the Union of Thessaly, as Kerasia Sinou in 1883 Government Gazette 126A - 02/04/1883 to be annexed to the municipality of Tymfaion. In 1940 it was corrected to Sina Kerasia and in 1940 to Kerasoula.[3] According to the Kallikratis program and its modification by Kleisthenes I, together with Asproklisia and Psiloma, they form the community of Asproklisia[4] which falls under the Municipal Unit of Chassia of the Municipality of Meteora and according to the 2011 census has 30 residents.[5] The course of the population, after World War II according to the censuses is:
