Kato Platanovrysi (Κάτω Πλατανόβρυση) Achaia

Kato Platanovrysi is a small settlement and belongs to the Community of Platanovrysi of the Municipality of Erymanthos in the Prefecture of Achaia[2][3].

It is located at an altitude of approximately 280 meters and is approximately 15 km by road from Patras.

History

It is a relatively new settlement[4]. Its inhabitants settled there coming from neighboring Platanovrissi in Achaia[5]. It was recognized as a settlement on 17/03/1991 and since then it has been part of the Community of Platanovrysi in all administrative changes[3][6].

The area where the modern settlement is located is identified with the pre-existing location "Hani Kourlampa" or simply "Kourlampa", from the eponymous inn that existed there in the post-revolutionary years, a place name that is still preserved today[7][8][9].

Demographic evolution

Overall, the demographic evolution of the settlement according to the national censuses[10][11] is as follows:
1991 2001 2011
87[4] 89[4][12] 98[13]
