Kato Chora (Κάτω Χώρα) Arta
Kato Chora is a settlement in Epirus in the Regional Unit of Arta.[1][2]
General information
Kato Chora is located on the border with the Region of Thessaly, very close to the banks of the Acheloos River and at an altitude of 600 meters.[1] It is approximately 60 kilometers NE. from Arta and 23 kilometers E.-SE. from Vourgareli (seat of the municipality). It is officially reported as a separate settlement in 1940, being registered in the then community of Mesountos.[3] According to the "Kallikratis" program and its amendment by Kleisthenis I, together with Drosia, Mesounta, Pefkos and Steno, they constitute the Community of Mesounta,[4] which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Athamania of the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka and according to the 2011 census, 63 residents were registered.[5]
