Kato Arachovitika (Κάτω Αραχοβίτικα) Achaia
Kato Arachovitika is a seaside settlement of Achaia in the Peloponnese.[2][3]
General information
Kato Arachovitika is located in the northern part of the prefecture and the coast of the Gulf of Corinth, at an altitude of 5 meters.[2][4] They are approximately 19 kilometers NE. from the center of Patras and 8 kilometers NE. from Rio while south of them is Arachovitika and Olympia Odos passes through. Their beach is developed with hotel tourist facilities and the residents are engaged in summer tourism.[2]
They are officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1940 to be registered in the community of Arachovitika.[5] According to the "Kallikratis" program and its amendment by Cleisthenes I, together with Arachovitika, they form the Community of Arachovitika[6], which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Rio of the Municipality of Patras and according to the 2021 census, 350 residents were registered[7] while in the 2011 census it had 597 residents[8].
