Katafygio (Καταφύγι) Arta
Katafygio or Katafygi is a village in the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka with 4 permanent residents (2011 census) and is located in the mountainous area of Tzoumerka, at an altitude of 928 meters. The settlement is about 54 km from the city of Arta, while the distance from Vourgareli is about 43 km. [1] [2]
According to the Kapodistrias Plan, Katafygio existed until the end of 2010, a settlement of the newly formed Municipality of Agnanta. Based on the new administrative division provided by the Kallikratis Plan, the Shelter was included in the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka. Katafygio together with Artissa, Frasta, Konakia, Paleochori and Agnanta are the local community of Agnantos with a total population of 430 inhabitants. [3]
Administrative changes
The settlement was recognized in 1940 and annexed to the Agnanton community. In 1997 the settlement was included in the Municipality of Agnonton and in 2010 it was included in the Municipality of the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka. [4]
Location and access
The settlement is adjacent to the settlements of the local community of Agnantos.
Demographics
Today the population is 4 permanent residents (2011 census), [5] showing a decrease compared to the 2001 census, where the population was 12 inhabitants. [6] Population fluctuations are shown in the table below.
