Karpeta (Καρπέτα) Achaia
Karpeta is a small settlement in Achaia and is administratively part of the Municipal Unit of Tritaia of the Municipality of Erymanthos.
Location
It is located in the Tritaia area at the southernmost point of the Vountouchla plain, at an altitude of approximately 250 meters, on the Patras-Tripoli National Road (NR "111"). A few meters after the settlement, the Pineios River passes, which constitutes the administrative boundary of the prefectures of Achaia and Ilia in the area. Close to the settlement and in the surrounding area are the villages of Skiadas, Agia Triada (Bokovina), Kalfas, Barakes, Skouras, the monastery of Notena, the forest of Kapeli as well as Skiadovouni. It belongs administratively to the Local Community of Skiadas.
History
The name of the settlement is anthroponymic and derives from the surname of the first resident of the area who built the inn of the same name there[1].
It is a relatively recent settlement. It was officially recognized as a settlement with the name Karpeta by the Government Gazette of 05/04/1981 and was initially subordinated to the Community of Skiada until 1997, when by the Government Gazette 244A of 04/12/1997, in accordance with the Administrative Reform of "Kapodistrias", it was annexed to the Municipality of Tritaia until 2010, when it was incorporated into the Municipality of Erymanthos (Government Gazette 87A - 07/06/2010) based on the Administrative Reform of "Kallikratis"[2].

Other information
The village cemetery church is dedicated to the memory of Saint John the Russian[1] while the parish church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Personalities
The painter Konstantinos Damalas hails from Karpetas.[8]
