Karamesinaiika (Καραμεσιναίικα) Achaia
Karamessinaiika, formerly Stou Karamessini[1], is a village in the former province of Patras in the prefecture of Achaia. It is a settlement in the municipal district of Karaiika of the former municipality of Movris with 158 inhabitants. It has a primary school from 1931 to 1997, which was closed due to a lack of students[1].
Historical information
The name is anthroponymic and is due to Spyros Karamessini from Vlasia Kalavryta, who after the Greek Revolution of 1821 bought national lands in the area, uninhabited at the time[1]. Although Karamesinis did not settle permanently in the area - in fact, in 1919 he sold all the estates he had - and due to the settlement of others from the mountainous areas of Kalavryta (Arbounas, etc.), already from 1838, but also from nearby Pournari, the name Karamesineika prevailed[1]. It is mentioned as an organized settlement after 1930 and all the residents are originally from the villages of Kalavryta[1].
In 1835 it was a settlement of the Municipality of Dymi until 1912, with the dissolution of the municipalities, it became a settlement of the community of Karaiika[1]. In the 1896 census it had 21 residents, 213 in 1940 and 303 in 1950[1].

The demographic evolution of the settlement in the 21st century is as follows:
