  • Kaparelli (Καπαρέλλι) Voiotia
  • Kaparelli is a small town in the Municipality of Thebes, as it was established according to the Kallikratis Program, in the Prefecture of Voiotia.

    Its population is 1,756 inhabitants, according to the 2011 Census, while it is located at an altitude of 320 meters. With the settlements of Agios Vassilios and Kalamaki, they constitute the Local Community of Kaparellio, with a total population of 1,863 inhabitants.

    The patron saint of Kaparellio is Agios Panteleimon. The church is of Byzantine style and its construction dates back to the Frankish period (1204-1460). In 1904 work began on the church taking its current form at the expense of the church fund and donations from the faithful. The interior of the church is imposing with a multitude of chandeliers and hagiographies.

    Near the village there is a small river called "Oeroi" from the name of a nymph.

    In 1981 the village was shaken by the great earthquake of Alkyonides in the Gulf of Corinth.

    Beaches
    Agios Vasileios

    At a distance of 14km. west of Kaparelli is the beach of Agios Vassilios, a port of Kaparellio. The settlement comes to life especially during the summer months, due to the many cottages.

    Kalamaki

    Following the same route to Agios Vasileios, a side street leads to the beach of Kalamaki, a small settlement that comes to life in the summer.
    Sport

    The most popular sport in the village is football. Caparelli has the P.A.S. Kithairona Kaparelliou, founded in 1968 and based in the Municipal Stadium of Kaparellio. In the period 2011-12 he competes in the First Division of Ε.Π.Σ. Voiotia. [1]
