Kalochori (Καλοχώρι) Imathia

Kalochori is a settlement in Central Macedonia in the Regional Unit of Imathia.[2][3]

Geographical - Historical data

Kalochori is located near the border with the Regional Unit of Pella, in the Aliakmonas plain and north of the river at an altitude of 20 meters[2]. It is approximately 9 km. SW. from Alexandreia (seat of the municipality), 27 km. S.-S.W. from Giannitsa and 61 km. W. from Thessaloniki while the Alexandreia - Kozani National Road passes through the village. To the southwest is Kavasila, to the south is Episkopi and to the northeast is Kampochori.

It is officially mentioned, after the Balkan Wars and the liberation of Macedonia, in 1928 under the name Neo Skylitsio, being annexed to the then community of Episkopi. In 1970 with the Government Gazette 55A - 04/03/1970 it was renamed Kalochorion.[4] According to the "Kallikratis" Program and its amendment by Kleisthenis I, together with Episkopi, they constitute the community of Episkopi[5] which falls under the municipal unit of Antigonides of the Municipality of Alexandreia, while according to the 2011 census, 232 residents were registered.[6]
