Kallithea (Καλλιθέα) Achaia
Kallithea (old name: Kani) is a small settlement in the former Kalavryta District of the Prefecture of Achaia. Administratively, it belongs to the Local Community of Kleitoria of the Municipal Unit of Kleitoria of the Municipality of Kalavryta, according to the administrative division of the Kallikrates Program in force in Greece since 2011.
Location
Kallithea is 2.4 km from Kleitoria, the seat of the Municipal Unit to which it belongs. It is a mountainous settlement at an altitude of 693 meters and its inhabitants are mainly engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. In the 2011 census, the settlement was found to have 52 residents[2][3].
Administrative history
Kallithea from 1835 to 1912 was a settlement of the Municipality of Kleitoria. In 1912, with the abolition of the Municipalities, it became a settlement of the Community of Vrosthaini, and from 1916, a settlement of the Community of Mazeika after it was detached from the Community of Vrosthaini. In 1998, with the implementation of the administrative division of the "Kapodistrias" plan, the settlement was incorporated into the Municipality of Lefkada as part of the Municipal District of Klitoria. Since 2011, based on the administrative reform "Kallikratis", it has been a settlement of the Local Community of Klitoria of the enlarged Municipality of Kalavryta.
