Goumenissa, formerly known as Vrysarion, is a mountainous village in the former Kalavryta District of the Achaia Prefecture in the hinterland of the northern Peloponnese. It is also currently a Local Community of the Municipal Unit of Kalavryta of the "Kallikratis" Municipality of Kalavryta. Before the implementation of the "Kapodistrian" administrative reform, it formed the Community of Goumenissa, while subsequently it became a Municipal District of the "Kapodistrian" Municipality of Kalavryta. The population of Goumenissa, according to the 2011 census, is 297 inhabitants.[1]
It is built at an altitude of approximately 780 meters, on the slopes of Mount Skepasto, northwest of Kalavryta and at a distance of 13 kilometers from them. It is also 41 kilometers from Aigio and 62 kilometers from Patras.
