Gonia (Γωνία) Preveza
Gonia is a village in Epirus, in the Preveza Regional Unit.[2][3]
Geography - History
Gonia is located on the northern border with the Ioannina Regional Unit, at an altitude of 220 meters.[2] It is approximately 21 km N. from Filippiada, 41 km S. from Ioannina and 34 km N.-N.W. from Arta. The Arta - Ioannina National Road passes through the eastern edge of the village, further east is the Louros River and Kleisoura, while to the west is the Zakorachi mountain (altitude 1,332 m).[3].
It is officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1961, when it was registered in the then community.[4] According to the "Kallikratis" Program, together with Voulista and Panagia, it forms the community of Panagia, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Filippiada, in the municipality of Ziros, and according to the 2011 census has a population of 68 residents[5].
