Gerovrysi is a settlement in Epirus, in the Regional Unit of Arta.[2][3][4]
General information
Gerovrysi is located towards the border with the Regional Unit of Ioannina and is built on the southwestern slopes of the Athamanika Mountains (Tzoumerka) at an altitude of 840 meters.[2] It is approximately 25 km W-NW from Voulgareli (the seat of the municipality), 43 km N-NE from Arta and 68 km SE from Ioannina. Southwest of the village is Ramia, which is considered a settlement, and north of Lepiana. Its church is the church of the Holy Trinity, built in 1973 on the site of an older church that celebrates the day of the Holy Spirit.[5]
It is officially mentioned for the first time in 1940 as being in the community of Ramia.[6] According to the "Kallikratis" program, together with Elafopidama, Livadi, Dara and Ramia, it forms the Community of Ramia, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Agnanti of the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka and according to the 2011 census has a population of 66 residents.[7]
