Fteri (Φτέρη) Ioannina
Fteri Zitsas[1] or Pteri[2] is a semi-mountainous village of Epirus in the Regional Unit of Ioannina at an altitude of 433 meters[3], which is 52 kilometers W.-SW. from the city of Ioannina and 52 km. from Eleousa (seat of the municipality). It is officially mentioned as a settlement after the liberation of Epirus in 1919 in Government Gazette 184A - 19/08/1919 to be annexed to the then community of Dovlas with its old name Varpova. In 1928 with Government Gazette 81A - 14/05/1928 it was renamed Fteri.[4] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Dovla, they form the local community of Dovla in the municipal unit of Molossos, which falls under the municipality of Zitsa, and according to the 2011 census, 27 residents are listed.[5]

In Epirus, there are the synonymous settlement of Fteri Bizanis and Pteri Artas.
