Foinikas (Φοίνικας) Ikaria
Foinikas is a very small settlement in Ikaria and the Regional Unit of Ikaria[2] which is located towards the central and northern part of the island, at the northern ends of Mount Atheras at an altitude of 318 meters[3]. It is approximately 6 km. SE. from Evdilos and 33 km. W. from Agios Kirykos. It was first mentioned as a settlement in 2001, being registered in the then Local Department of Arethousa of the then municipality of Evdilos.[2] According to the "Kallikratis" Program, together with Arethousa, Kyparissi Arethousa and Pera Arethousa, it forms the community of Arethousa, which falls under the municipal unit of Evdilos of the Municipality of Ikaria, while according to the 2011 census, 8 residents were registered[4] and in 2001 there were 11[5].
