Dosoula (Δοσούλα) Aitoloakarnania
Dosoula is a semi-mountainous village of Central Greece in the Aitoloakarnania Regional Unit.[2]
Geographical information
Dosoula is located west of the Evinos River, in the Thermos region at an altitude of 220 meters[2]. It is 39 km. E-SE. from Agrinio, 41 km. E. from Nafpaktos and 10 km. SE. from Thermos.[3] East of the village and next to the banks of the Evinos and between ancient plane trees there is the location "Kareli" and its cable-stayed bridge that connects Thermos with Nafpaktia. Initially it was a rope bridge which was replaced after the war by a cable-stayed bridge and served the residents of the area.[4] It was recognized as a settlement in 1940 and was annexed to the Kato Chrysovitsa community.[5] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Kato Chrysovitsa and Diasello, they form the local community of Kato Chrysovitsa, which falls under the municipality of Thermos and according to the 2011 census has a population of 24 residents.[6]
