Geography - history
Diasellaki is located on the border of Trichonida with Nafpaktia and west of the Evinos River, which the residents call "Valtsorema" at this point.[3] It is built on sloping ground, at the foot of Mount Anemytsi and near the Thermo - Platano provincial road. To the south, there has been an iron Bailey-type bridge since 1953 that connected Thermo with Diasellaki - Perko - Perista and Achladokastro - Platano, which is currently inactive.[3] The village is 47 km W. from Agrinio, 19 km E. from Platanos and 17 km. NW. from Thermos.[4] It has been officially mentioned as a settlement since 1835 under the name Selpitza, belonging to the municipality of Proschi. In 1912 it was corrected to Seltsa and annexed to the community of Platanos. In 1927, with the Government Gazette 206A-28/09/1927, it was renamed Diaselaki and in 1940 it was corrected to Diasellakion.[5] According to the Kallikratis plan, it is the local community of Diasellakion, which falls under the municipality of Thermos and according to the 2011 census has a population of 136 residents.[6]
