Dasochori (Δασοχώρι) Larissa
Dasochori, officially known as Dasochorion, is a settlement in the prefecture of Larissa and the Municipal Unit of Giannoulis of the Municipality of Larissa, located in the Regional Unit of Larissa of the Region of Thessaly, according to the administrative division of Greece as formed with the "Kallikratis" program. During the administrative division of Greece with the "Kapodistrias" plan, until 2010, Dasochori belonged to the Local Department of Falanni, of the former Municipality of Giannoulis of the Prefecture of Larissa.
History
In 1966, according to the Government Gazette 178A - 13/09/1966, the "community of Dasochori" was established with the detachment of the settlement of Dasochori from the community of Falannis and its designation as the seat of the community.[2] In 1967, according to the Government Gazette 202A - 18/11/1967, the settlement of Dasochori was separated from the community and annexed to the community of Falanni, which resulted in the abolition of the community of Dasochori.[3]
Sports clubs
Dasochori has the football club "Atromitos Dasochori" which participates in the A1 Category (1st Group) championship of the E.P.S. Larissa.[4]
Geography
Dasochori has an altitude of 73 meters above sea level, at latitude 39.6902982161 and longitude 22.4167721431 and is located 4 km north of the city of Larissa. It borders the settlement of Dendra to the west, the settlement of Ampelona to the north and the settlement of Koulouri to the northeast.
Population
During the last Census of 2021, Dasochori had 289 permanent residents[5].
In the 2011 Census, Dasochori had a population of 612 residents[6], marking an increase of 5% from the previous census of 2001 when it had 583 residents.[7]
