Dara is a settlement in Epirus, in the Regional Unit of Arta.[1][2][3]
General information
Dara is located towards the border with the Regional Unit of Ioannina, near and east of the Arachthos River at an altitude of 270 meters.[1] It is approximately 21 km W. from Voulgareli (seat of the municipality), 37 km N.-NE. from Arta and 63 km S.-SE. from Ioannina. West of the village and on the river is the Bridge of Tzaris from where the tributary "Monopati tis Vidras" begins and ends at the Bridge of Plaka.[4]
It is officially mentioned for the first time in 1940 as being registered in the community of Ramia.[5] According to the "Kallikratis" program, together with Elafopidama, Livadi, Gerovrysi and Ramia, they constitute the Community of Ramia, which belongs to the Municipal Unit of Agnantes of the Municipality of Central Tzoumerka and according to the 2011 census has a population of 34 residents.[6]
