Dafni (Δάφνη) Karditsa

Dafni is an uninhabited settlement of the Koumpouriana and the Municipality of Argithea[1] in Thessaly and the Regional Unit of Karditsa which is located on the northeastern slopes of the Valtos Mountains at an altitude of 850 meters[2]. It is approximately 14 km. S.-SE. from Anthiro (seat of the municipality) and 5 km. NE. from Koumpouriana. It was officially mentioned as a separate settlement for the first time in 1961 with its old name Koziokari being registered in the community of Koumbouriana, while it was renamed Daphne in 1962 with the Government Gazette 89A - 11/06/1962.[3] According to the Kallikrates program and its amendment by Kleisthenis I, together with Koumbouriana, Krania, Stavros and Moni Spilias, it constitutes the homonymous community[4] which falls under the municipal unit of East Argithea of ​​the municipality of Argithea, while according to the 2011 census it has no permanent residents[5].
