Chelidona (Χελιδών) Evrytania
Chelidona is a small mountain settlement in the Prefecture of Evrytania, it is the seat of the homonymous Local Community, and according to the "Kallikratis Program" since 1/1/2011 it belongs to the Municipality of Karpenisi[2]. During the period 1997-2010, based on the "Kapodistrias Plan", it belonged to the former Municipality of Potamia as the seat of the homonymous former municipal district[2][3][4].
With the Government Gazette 81A of 14/05/1928 it was renamed from Lastovo to Chelidona[2][5], similarly the then Community[3][4][5].
Location
The village is located in the southern part of Evrytania and is built at an altitude of approximately 540 to 690 meters, on the southern slopes of Mount Templa opposite the southwestern slopes of Mount Chelidona[6]. South of the village is the confluence of the Trikeriotis River with the Vathy Diaselo torrent[6]. The location "Platanaki" is close to it, 2 km away. On the slopes opposite Trikeriotis are the villages of Velota and Parigoris. It is 29 km from Karpenisi and 67 km from Agrinio.
