Chaidemeni (Χαϊδεμένη) Trikala
Chaidemeni is a settlement in Thessaly in the Trikala Regional Unit.[2][3]
General information
Chaidemeni is located in the plain of Trikala, in the drainage basin of the Pinios River and at an altitude of 135 meters[2] while it is approximately 8 km north of the city center. To the west is Raxa, to the northeast is Ardani, to the southwest is Sotira.
It is officially mentioned, after the Union with Greece, in 1883 in Government Gazette 126A - 02/04/1883 with its old name from the Turkish occupation as Tolpitsa being annexed to the then municipality of Paralithia and in 1928 with Government Gazette 81A - 14/05/1928 being renamed Chaidemeni.[4] According to the Kallikratis program and its amendment by Kleisthenis I, together with Raxa, they form the community of Raxa[5] which falls under the Municipal Unit of Paralithea of the Municipality of Trikala and according to the 2011 census, 79 residents were registered.[6] The population trend, according to the censuses is:
