Administrative development
The village of Ampelokipoi, which previously bore the name Arfara, was recognized as a settlement on 20/04/1835, when it was subordinated to the then Municipality of Aigeira[2][4][5]. During the period between 04/05/1873-28/08/1912 it was the seat of the Municipality of Aigeira[2][4][5]. With the Government Gazette 256A of 28/08/1912, and the establishment of the Communities, it was subordinated to the then Community of Arfara, constituting at the same time its seat[2][5][6][7]. With the Government Gazette 156A of 08/08/1928 it was renamed from Arfara to Ampelokipoi[2][5][8], as was the Community[5][6][7][9]. With the Government Gazette 123A of 19/08/1986 it was detached from the then Community of Ampelokipi and became part of the then Community of Chrysampelo[2][5][6][9][10], while also constituting its seat[2][5][6][9]. During the period 1997-2010, based on the "Kapodistrias Plan", it belonged to the former Municipality of Aigeira as the seat of the former Municipal district of the same name[2][5][11].
