Ampares (Αμπάρες) Evrytania
Ampares is a small semi-mountainous settlement of Central Greece in the Regional Unit of Evrytania at an altitude of 400 meters[2]. It is located on the western border with the Regional Unit of Aitoloakarnania, north of the artificial lake of Kremasta, between the villages of Agios Prokopios and Tsoukka. It is 13 km. W. from Kerasochori (seat of the municipality) and 51 km. W.-NW. from Karpenisi. As a separate settlement, it was first mentioned in 1961, being registered in the then community of Palaiokatouna.[3] According to the Kallikratis plan, together with Agios Prokopios and Tsoukka, it forms the local community of Palaiokatouna, which belongs to the municipal unit of Fragkista of the Municipality of Agrafa and, according to the 2011 census, has a population of 17 inhabitants.[4]
