Ο Ζωρζ Σερά (Georges-Pierre Seurat, 1859-1891) ήταν Γάλλος μετα-ιμπρεσσιονιστής ζωγράφος, ο εισηγητής του πουαντιγισμού (στιγματογραφία). Το έργο του Ένα κυριακάτικο απόγευμα στο νησί της Γκραντ Ζατ (1884-1886) άλλαξε την κατεύθυνση σύγχρονης τέχνης αποτελώντας την αρχή του νεο-ιμπρεσιονισμού. Αυτός ο πίνακας είναι ένας από τους γνωστότερους του 19ου αιώνα.
