Margaret Jordan Patterson (1867-1950) was an American artist.[1] She was born in Java but grew up in America.[1] She studied at the Pratt Institute.[2][3] She later became head of the art department at Dana Hall School in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and held that job until she retired in 1940.[2] She also worked as an art teacher in public schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.[3] Some of her awards include honorable mention at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915, and a medal from the Philadelphia Watercolor Club in 1939.[3] Her art is now held in the Cleveland Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Oakland Art Museum, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.[3]
