Nikos Paragios was born at Rhodes, Greece in 1972.

He is a professor at the Department of Applied Mathematics at the Ecole Centrale Paris. He is also affiliated with INRIA Saclay Ile-de-France, the French Research Institute in Informatics and Control. His main research interest are medical imaging, computer vision and human computer interaction. He was one of the laureates of the MIT Technology Review TR35 award in 2006 and was awarded the Bodossaki foundation Prize from Greece in 2008 for his contributions in the field of applied sciences.

He is married to Alina Paragyios, a J.D., L.L.M., PhD who directs a law firm practicing employment / labor law in Paris.
