George Theophanous was born in Larnaca, Cyprus in 1968. He studied from his early age at the national conservatory of Greece: guitar, piano and music theory. He continued his studies at Berkeley College of Music in Boston, USA, majoring in arranging. He has been awarded several times as a songwriter/producer both in Greece and Cyprus. In 1990 he settled in Athens, Greece, where he began his career in the Greek music industry. At present he is considered one of the leading composers and music producers in Greece, having sold more, than one million CD and written more than 400 songs for some of the most successful singers in Greece. He is well known among ESC fans as he was composer of the Cyprus entries in 1992 (Malmo, Sweden) and 1994 (Dublin, Ireland) and conductor of orchestra in 1993 and 1995.

In 1999 Theofanous put together the first boy-band of Greece, ONE. ONE became very popular and commercially successful in Greece and Cyprus, reaching platinum sales. In 2002 CyBC approached Georges to write and produce the Cyprus entry in Tallinn, Estonia which was performed by ONE with the song “Gimme” and finishing in 6th place.
